    Superb

The staff is extremely helpful, and the location is good ( 2 mins walk to Minamisenju Stn.). And it is a very clean Japanese style hotel.

Japanese stile room. Very new and clean, comfortable, very kind stuff. near to train station, you get easily and fast to the city center.

Was clean, good price, and right across street from train station...

    Very good

Feels like a traditional Japanese house. Very clean, right next to the subway and jr line, and they provide you with towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Reliable wifi. I enjoyed my stay here. Very close by is a supermarket, many shops (including a 7 11) and loads of restaurants including a 24 hour Dennys and McDonalds.

It is a little far from the city centre (about 35 minutes by subway to Roppongi) but the subway station is about a 30 second walk from the hotel so it's not too inconvenient. Although the hotel is beside the subway, I actually found it quite difficult to find. These directions should help you: Leave the subway or JR line by the main exit (follow the Japanese commuters!) not the small side exit. If you look around you should see a McDonalds and a Lawson near you. Very close by will be a Dennys. Walk towards the Dennys and when you are in front of it turn left and walk to the traffic lights. This should be about a 15 second walk. On the left you will see a tunnel or underpass which cars are using. You want to cross the road so you are at the alley beside the entrance to the tunnel (in other words, just cross the road.) The hotel is down that alley, maybe the 5th or 6th house on the left.

The Chiyoda Inn is excellent! It has recently been renovated and the facilities are outstanding. We Staid in a twin room with toilet and and found the hotel to be spotlessly clean, well looked after, and extremely comfortable. All mod cons (except no tv in room - but who needs one on holiday anyway?) Staff are amazingly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Shower rooms were spotless, and well looked after. I would recommend this Ryokan unreservedly. I am extremely confident you would be impressed too.

The room was not the largest - but hey, this is Japan and it was definately not too small either.

I couldn't be happier with the chiyoda inn. I stayed there at a friend's reccomendation and was pleasantly surprised! The price is very reasonable, and my single room was well appointed at equipped, and was clean! There is free wifi, which is a big plus. The manager, Shimpei was incredibly hospitable and warm - very accomodating! I highly reccomend!!

It can be a little noisy. The walls are thinner so if you need absolute quiet to sleep, look elsewhere.

I really loved the friendly staff. Their English was fantastic and they were so helpful. The rooms were immaculate and the oragami and snacks were lovely touches. One of the best features is the japanese bathing room. They run a huge bath for 2+ people which is very hot and very relaxing and all included in the price!

    Superb

The owner of the inn is super. Because the check in day was my wife's birthday & I would like to arrange some surprise for her. After I talked to the owner about my idea, he volunteered to buy a cake from a very famous bakery shop near his inn. On the actual day, he also prepared small gifts and brought in the cake with the birthday music. On top of that, he even didn't charge me for the cake (that must be expensive because it is super delicious) I really thank him very much for all the effort. The room is very clean, the area is quiet with traditional Japanese eating house nearby & it is convenient as well because minami- senju stations of Tokyo metro, jr & Tsukuba express are within 3 mins walking distance.

Nothing at all, I will definitely go back...

    Superb

I went with my partner and stayed for 3 nights. Mr. Ota was a joy to interact with, and the staff was diligent about keeping things tidy in our room--without being intrusive. The location is convenient: it really is a two or three minute walk from three very convenient train lines (jr, Hibiya Subway, and Tsukuba Express). It's close to the more historical "shitamachi" district of Tokyo, if not in it, and to other cool places like Akihabara. At no time was there any weirdness around the fact that I was there with my same-sex spouse. Overall, a very positive experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. A note about our room: it was a modest, Japanese-style room with a sink and a private toilet. It was, however, very well thought out with plenty of amenities. The shower was common-use, but the inn kindly provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash to use. I never even saw anyone else go in. Which leads me to the last thing I'd like to say. The inn opened about a year ago in march or april of 2011, right around the time of the earthquake. Since then, I don't think business has been too good. If you're the kind of person who supports businesses who give it their all, I'd suggest you give this place a shot. It's independently run and is clearly a cherished undertaking. Mr. Ota is a kind soul, clearly doing his best to make visitors feel appreciated.

There was a *small* amount of noise from the nearby trains, primarily at night, but I actually liked it. It was minimal and, to me, pleasant. I can see someone else being bothered by it, though.

Accommodation was very good, clean rooms. Shared toilet and shower did not mind, everything perfectly clean. There are two computers with internet access, wifi is available in room. A small detail: Shimpei Ota is a great man, each guest has welcome message in his mother tongue, so I got a message in Czech. It was very nice. Great access to Tokyo downtown, the hotel is located about 3 minutes walk from the JR station, great access to the city center, to Tokyo and Ueno stations. If I go back to Tokyo, I'll live again in that hotel.
